Saturday March 12th
Guinness Toast Finals
Every year from September 17th (halfway to St Pats) O’Toole’s Irish Pub hosts a monthly Guinness Toast Contest. Sponsored by Guinness, O’Toole’s and Paradise Beverages, the contest concludes on Saturday the 12th at 8:00pm. Come down and hear the finalists compete for a trip for two to Las Vegas.

St Patrick’s Day Parade
The 49thnd Annual St Patrick’s Day parade sponsored by the Friends of St Patrick will take place on Thursday the 17th at 12 noon on Kalakaua Ave in Waikiki. The Parade route begins on Kalakaua fronting Fort Derussy and ends at Kapiolani Park by the bandstand. The Parade this year will feature JJ Niebuhr as the Friends of Saint Patrick’s, Irishman of the Year. The event should conclude by 2:00pm
Thank yous are extended to our Parade Sponsors; JJ Dolans, Murphy’s Bar & Grill, Anna O’Brien’s, Kelley O’Neil’s, O’Toole’s, the Irish Rose Saloon, Anheuser Busch of Hawaii, Killians Irish Red, Guinness, Pabst and Primo, Boston Beer Co., Jamesons, Tullamore Dew, Bushmills, Two Gingers, Teeling and Barefoot Wines.
The Parade will close Kalakaua Ave. from 11:30 until about 1:30 as the parade passes.
Interesting fact: Honolulu’s Saint Patrick’s Day Parade is the last parade on the planet each year as any events west of Hawaii are beyond the International Dateline.

Friends of St Patrick Post-Parade Party
Immediately following the parade the Friends will be heading to Kelley O’Neil’s on 311 Lewers St to celebrate Erin’s favorite saint with Live Irish Music at 1pm featuring Celtic Waves followed with a mix of recorded and live music and finishing the night with Rock and Roll performed by the Taja. St Patrick’s Day Garb appropriate for the day will be available as well as a menu of Corned Beef and Cabbage, Fish & Chips, Beef Stew and Cold Corned Beef Sandwiches and of Course the fine selection of Irish Brews including Guinness, Harp, Smithwick’s, and Killian’s and a Great selection of finer Irish whiskeys including Jameson’s, Bushmills, Tullamore Dew, Teeling and Two Gingers.
At the Irish Rose Saloon until early evening. Dinosaurus X will be playing from 9pm to close.
Anna O’Brien’s will have an outside party featuring Samuel Adams and Pabst Blue Ribbon starting in the afternoon, with a Boston Baked Bean eating contest, The Prettiest Red Head Contest and the Best Leprechaun Contest, all outside in our parking area behind Annas..
Inside will feature Killian’s, Smithwick’s, Guinness and Harp, and Corned Beef and Cabbage plates and plenty of recorded Irish favorite, downstairs at the PUB.
Upstairs at the CLUB starts with a live Irish session from 5-8pm followed by recorded live Irish music Concerts featuring The Tossers, Flogging Molly, the Pogues and Dropkick Murphys upstairs from 9pm-close. The Party will continue downstairs at the PUB and upstairs at the CLUB until 1am.
Downtown St Patrick’s Day Block Party
The biggest bash and the last place on the planet (this side of the dateline) to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
Murphy’s begins its party in the open air parking lot at the corners of Nuuanu and Marin. The Party in the parking lot features a wide variety of food on the Irish Theme of course featuring Corned Beef but with a fine seafood selection at the Guinness Oyster Bar. The food and service start at 11am within the parking lot.
Always a blast, the block party starts at around 6:00pm as the Streets are closed on Nuuanu, Merchant and Marin Lane. Murphy’s Bar and Grill takes to the streets with the good folks at O’Toole’s to provide the highlight of every St Patrick’s Day the Block Party. Live music will include the Celtic Pipes and Drums, the Doolin Rakes and the Piranha Brother on the streets. Libations by Guinness, Harp, Killlian’s, Smithwick’s, Bud Light, Stella Artois, Jameson’s and Barefoot Wines. Live Music, great food, clothing and fun pervade the streets.
Catch the full day of Irish Music at O’Toole’s “the Party within the Party.” Starting at 1pm with the Audrey Knuth with Lawson Cannon, followed at 4pm by Audrey Knuth with Larry Unger and topped off with Honolulu’s own Doolin Rakes. The Street party should run until 10pm O’Toole’s remains open until 1:30pm.
