Derek Warfield is an old hand in the Irish music business – he was a founding member of the original Wolf Tones (1963-2001) and has performed solo to pass on the musical tradition of Ireland to the Irish of America. The Young Wolf Tones are the newest venture by this legend – a gathering of young musicians to carry on the legacy of the old Wolfe Tones. They’ve performed in hundreds of concerts in six different countries since their creation in 2009. Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones are known worldwide for their Irish patriotic ‘rebel songs’ and other traditional tunes. Derek is acknowledged by many in the business as an excellent front man whose introductions help modern audiences to understand the tone and meaning of many an old ballad.
