We regularly host fine whiskey tastings, at Anna O’Brien’s in McCully – Moiliili, and in the Celtic Room at O’Toole’s in Downtown Oahu. Bill Comerford (Seen here reviewing Old Pali Road whiskey,) presents six or more whiskeys, and explains their provenance and character, allowing you to explore and taste craft whiskey that you may not be able to easily access, and eliminate the need to research, select and source whole and sometimes rare and expensive bottles of whiskey yourself.
It allows you to find out what you like and don’t like, without the considerable expense and risk involved. Tasting notes are discussed, and you get to learn your likes and dislikes in order to come up with new spirits to suit your tastes from the thousands of choices.
The goal of tasting whiskey is to enjoy the spirit in a way that is meaningful to you; that might be learning about the different flavor profiles, trying a rare whiskey or comparing a series of drams to figure out which bottles to add to your bar.
